Zirconia corundum has a tough texture, a dense structure, high strength, and excellent thermal stability, typically appearing gray-brown. So, what are the uses and properties of zirconium corundum abrasives?

Uses of Zirconia Corundum Abrasives:

1. Zirconia corundum exhibits excellent resistance to melt erosion. As a high-grade abrasive, it can be used to manufacture high-performance, heavy-duty grinding wheels, providing excellent grinding performance for steel, cast iron, heat-resistant steel, and various alloys.

2. Zirconia corundum is also a high-grade refractory material, making it ideal for high-performance sliding and submerged nozzles, and can also be used to manufacture zirconium corundum bricks for glass melting furnaces.

3. It is widely used in the production of refractory materials for continuous rolling and casting, nozzles, runners, and glass furnaces in the steel industry.

4. Zirconia corundum micropowder is primarily used in the manufacture of abrasive pastes, polishing waxes, emery cloths, and sandpaper.

5. Zirconia corundum has excellent resistance to melt erosion. As a high-grade abrasive, it provides excellent grinding performance for steel, cast iron, heat-resistant steel, and various alloys. It can be used to manufacture high-performance, heavy-duty zirconium corundum grinding wheels, rough grinding wheels, cutting blades, rail grinding wheels, high-speed sanding belts, and more.

Zirconium corundum Abrasive Properties:

1. Based on the physical and chemical properties and content of ZrO2, it is generally classified into low-zirconium corundum (ZrO2 10%-15%), medium-zirconium corundum (ZrO2 25%), and high-zirconium corundum (ZrO2 40%). Zirconia corundum has a primary crystalline phase of α-Al2O3, a secondary crystalline phase of baddeleyite, and a small amount of glass phase.

2. Zirconia corundum is tough, dense, high-strength, and has good thermal shock resistance. It is generally gray-brown in color. Its density is 4.05 g/cm3. It has excellent resistance to melt erosion and is often used as a lining material for glass kilns.

3. Zirconium corundum abrasive has a tough texture, dense structure, high strength, good thermal shock resistance, and is generally gray-brown in color.
