New Development of Sanding Belts

Sanding belts can be generally divided into three categories:

(1) Fine sanding belts

(2) Heavy-duty sanding belts

(3) Other special types of sanding belts.

 

Ⅰ. Fine sanding belts refer to stacked abrasives, single-layer or multi-layer sanding belts made of fine-grained abrasives, and are mostly used for fine grinding, lapping and polishing of material surfaces. According to the different abrasive structure forms, they can be divided into: pyramid stacking type, stacked abrasive and cork particle type. According to the difference in basic material type, they can be divided into: non-woven type, mesh type, polyester super-reinforced film type. According to the binder and bonding method: resin type and metal electroplating type.

1. Stacked abrasive and pyramid sanding belts Stacked abrasive sanding belts appear to be composed of a series of coarse abrasive grains, but in fact each large abrasive grain contains many fine aluminum oxide and silicon carbide particles.

2. Diamond sanding belts Diamond sanding belts have high efficiency, long life, high surface processing quality and environmental protection characteristics. They have gradually received attention in the field of precision processing of hard and brittle materials and near-sighted materials.

3 Polyester film abrasive belt

The base material of this abrasive belt - polyester film is a material very similar to plastic film. Its biggest advantage is that it is thin and strong, has good toughness, a very flat surface and strong adsorption, and does not deform during use.

 

II: Other special forms of abrasive belts

1. Super coating (third coating) and special layer abrasive belts Super coating abrasive belts have special advantages when grinding stainless steel, titanium alloy and other difficult-to-grind materials.

2. Antistatic abrasive belts Especially suitable for processing hard plastics, particleboard and glued surfaces

3. Heavy-duty strong abrasive belts Used for efficient and strong grinding of automotive parts and aerospace engineering super and gold and titanium alloys.

(1) Zirconia corundum abrasive belts It is a kind of abrasive with strong resistance to breakage, usually composed of multiple crystals.

(2) Ceramic zirconia corundum abrasive belts Ceramic abrasive belts have a service life twice that of zirconia corundum belts
