Precautions for Sand Belt Storage

Both animal glue and all resin sand belts are subject to certain changes due to the influence of climate, especially animal glue products have the greatest impact, that is, semi resin and all resin products, due to the matrix being plant fibers and not undergoing water resistance treatment, will also undergo physical changes under different climate conditions. If stored in a place with high indoor humidity for too long, it will absorb too much moisture and cause bending. The reason for bending towards the sand surface is that the degree of moisture absorption between the adhesive layer and the substrate is different, and the substrate absorbs more moisture, resulting in swelling. If moisture absorption continues and the temperature rises, mold will occur, making the sand belt unusable. If the local humidity in the storage area is too low, that is, the climate is dry, the moisture in the commodity is excessively dispersed, and the fundamental plane is shortened, so the commodity simply bends towards the fundamental plane. When severe, the product becomes brittle and easily cracks. Therefore, coated abrasives such as sandpaper should be stored in a cool, dry, and ventilated warehouse. The best storage conditions are a temperature of 15-20 ° C and a relative humidity of 50-60% indoors.
In addition, it is not advisable to open the box or package of the product too early before use. It is best to open it as needed, and it is advisable to open the box at most two days before use. The packaged sand box should not be subjected to heavy pressure to avoid causing creases on the sand belt and rendering it unusable. Half resin and animal glue sanding belts should not exceed one year. Full resin sand belts should not exceed two years. When the above deadline is exceeded, the sand belt should be rechecked and confirmed to be problem free before use.

Before using the sand belt, it should be delivered to the work site 2-3 days in advance and hung up to achieve balance with the temperature and humidity in the working environment, and to eliminate or reduce bending marks caused by packaging curling.
