1. The high surface quality of abrasive belt grinding workpieces is mainly manifested in small surface roughness values, good residual stress states, and no micro cracks or changes in metallographic structure on the surface;
2. Due to the light weight of the abrasive belt itself, the balance state of its grinding process structure system is easy to control, and all rotating components have minimal wear and there will be no dynamic imbalance factors like grinding wheels. The sand belt grinding process has great flexibility and strong adaptability.
Belt grinding is very safe, with low noise and dust, and is easy to control, with good environmental benefits. During grinding, the sanding belt is not as prone to sand detachment as the grinding wheel, especially during dry grinding. The debris mainly consists of the material of the workpiece being processed, making it easy to recover and control dust. Due to the use of rubber contact wheels, sand belt grinding does not cause rigid impact on the workpiece, so the processing noise is very low, usually less than 70dB. From an environmental perspective, belt grinding is also highly recommended.
